Flights to Malaga from the UK including flights from Birmingham, London-Gatwick, London-Luton, and Manchester will arrive at the Malaga Airport, also known as Malaga Costa Del Sol Airport and Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport. The airport is located about 8 kilometers southwest of Malaga and offers easy access to trains, buses, car hire and taxis to get to the city centre. Typically during the summer, there are long queues to get a taxi. A taxi cab ride to the Malaga city centre will cost around €20.

There is a bus station located underground at the airport. At the bus station, tourists can buy a Malaga Metropolitan Travel Card for large discounts on the buses in Malaga in addition to buying tickets for the direct bus connections from the airport to the Costa del Sol resorts of Marbella and Estepona.  Also underground is the Cercanías Málaga commuter trains, providing a direct route to the Málaga city centre every 30 minutes. Car hire is also a relatively inexpensive option but you will need to book a car in advance during the high season.

Expect to land at a very busy airport on flights to Malaga from the UK. The Malaga airport is the main airport for the Costa del Sol resort region which is a major tourist destination. The airport is used by people visiting Gibraltar because so many more airlines serve the Malaga airport than the Gibralter airport.
